Metrotown Animal Hospital is proud to serve the pet owners of Vancouver and the surrounding area. Our veterinary clinic and animal hospital is run by Dr. Manjinder Hans, who is a licensed, experienced Burnaby veterinarian.

Metrotown Animal Hospital stays on top of the latest advances in veterinary technology and, above all, remembers that all animals need to be treated with loving care in every checkup, procedure or surgery.
A graduate of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University in Ludhiana, Punjab, India, Dr. Manjinder Hans studied further at Missouri State, USA. Before opening his own clinic, Metrotown Animal Hospital, in Burnaby in 1998, he worked as a veterinarian in Vancouver.
Dr. Manjinder Hans has an interest in skin and ear issues and musculoskeletal problems (anterior cruciate ligament surgeries) in dogs and cats. His interests outside of his work life are sports, mainly tennis and watching ice hockey (Go, Canucks), and he loves spending time with his wife and kids!
Dr. Naresh Gaind is an associate veterinarian at Metrotown Animal Hospital. He attended the College of Veterinary Science at Punjab Agricultural University. Dr. Gaind received his bachelor’s degree in veterinary sciences and animal husbandry. He has been working as a veterinarian since 1990. He loves to read books and travel. He is most interested in small animal surgery and medicine.
Dr. Gaind is married to Anita Gaind, and they are proud parents of two children.
Dr. Upender Tomar is an associate veterinarian at Metrotown Animal Hospital. He attended the College of Veterinary Science at Punjab Agricultural University and received his bachelor’s degree in veterinary sciences and animal husbandry. He moved to British Columbia along with his family.
Dr. Tomar's hobbies include biking, reading and hiking. His favorite sport is badminton. He enjoys watching ice hockey; of course, his favourite team is the Vancouver Canucks.
Dr. Tomar is married to Sunita Tomar, and together they are parents to two children, Anu and Ishaan.
Kirsten Nelson is the veterinary assistant at Metrotown Animal Hospital. She has a veterinary assistant diploma and canine first aid certificate from Granville Business College.
Kirsten brings with her more than 7 years of experience in the veterinary services, and she is excited to be a part of a facility that provides the most comprehensive veterinary care available.
Kirsten is working to implement new practices for excellence in client relations on par with our medical services. Improving and fine-tuning the communication technologies already in place in MAH is also her prime area of focus.
Kirsten has a true love for animals and has 4 cats of her own.
